Problem: In the Hotpoint HSS25GFP Side by Side Refrigerator, the freezer doesn’t blow enough cold air.
Solution: When the freezer blows air that isn’t cold enough, this is generally indicative of the fact that your condenser coils need cleaning. When these coils are dirty, the compressor is unable to get rid of the heat and this can affect the temperature of the air being blown by the freezer.
At the bottom of your fridge, you will notice a panel. Remove it. Use a vacuum with a crevice tool and a long, skinny brush to tackle the dirt on the back and front side of the bottom of the fridge. Once this is done, the freezer will start cooling normally. In case that doesn’t happen, you may be experiencing problem with the refrigerant in the unit. To fix this problem, it’s best to call in a service tech.
Problem: In the Hotpoint FFA70 Fridge, the Defrost warning light stays on for no apparent reason.
Solution: This is a fairly simple problem to fix. First, take everything out of your fridge, switch it off, and allow it to defrost overnight. Remove the panel behind the draws in the bottom freezer compartment. If you find that the filament is covered with a layer of ice, melt it with the help of a hairdryer. This takes a little bit of time and you need to do it carefully. Once you are done, switch on the refrigerator. You will notice that the freezer works just fine and functions noiselessly.
Problem: In the Hotpoint RLA64 fridge a lot of water is collecting at the bottom of the fridge and spilling on to the floor.
Solution: There are two reasons why the water is collecting at the bottom of the fridge. One, the defrosted water is overflowing into the drain tank and two, the defrosted drain pipe from the evaporator is clogged. To tackle this problem, move the unit forward and take out the drain tank. This should cause the water to evaporate. If the drain pipe is clogged, force the dirt out with the help of a flexible Bowden.
